Imbolc, known as the Feast of Brigid, celebrates the arrival of longer, warmer days and the start of Celtic spring.

Saint Brigid’s Day, or Imbolc (meaning ‘in the belly’), celebrates the arrival of longer, warmer days and the early signs of spring.

It is most commonly held on 1st February, or about halfway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox.

It is one of four major ‘fire festivals’ (quarter days), referred to in Irish mythology from medieval Irish texts.

Ancient Celts are also believed to have celebrated the festival.

In ancient mythology Brigid was a fire goddess.   Nowadays, her canonization is celebrated with a perpetual flame at her shrine in Kildare.

Celt Fire Fest is to observe these Celtic traditions and celebrate St.Brigid’s Day with our very own Fire Festival.
